COUPLE SAVES ABUSED DOGS
Q: What is the story? (What is the point of the news report?)
A: A couple in Quebec had rescued a litter of puppies that were left for dead in a ditch. The point of the story is to stop animal cruelty.
Q: What is the establishing shot in the video?
A: The establishing shot in the video is of the litter of pups.
Q: What is the introduction?
A: During the introduction, we are introduced to the pups and the couple who had saved them. We are also informed specifically where and when the pups had been found. The man begins to talk about how shocked he was that a person would do such a thing.
Q: Most likely "sources" are used in the report and they are making comments or being quoted. Name two of them.
A: Ken France - "I can't get my head around why somebody would of done that they always wanted to get rid of the dogs."
Genevieve Sabourin - "I started looking I said what the hell you know and I saw like the end of probably the nails you know and i could see two spots on his head."

A: One example of "B-roll" in the video is that they had showed the nail that was found in the mother dog's head along with an x-ray of the dog. Another example of "B-roll" in the video was that they showed the couple playing with their own dogs, this showed viewers watching the video that the couple had a huge love for animals.
Q: What are two other types of B-roll footage that you think they could have used (consider what is being said in the voice overs)?
A: Other B-roll footage I think they could of used is shots of the puppies with their new owners. Another B-roll footage that could have been used is what the couple had found when they went back for a second look.
Q: Identify two different voice overs and briefly list what facts are in each voice over.
A: In one voice over we find out where the couple is from and where and when the pups were found. In another voice over we find out that a pup had died because of the nails.
Q: What is the closing to the video?
A: During the closing of the video we are introduced to SGT. Claude Denis who states that he has never seen anything like this before. The reporter also says that they are trying to find the sick person who did such a thing and this person could potentially be sentenced to 5 years in jail.
Q: Who is the reporter and what is her/his tag at the end?
A: The reporter is Peter Akman, his end tag states the the person who killed and abandoned the dogs could be faced to 5 years in jail.
